Here is an incredible set of 10 linen and hemp tea towels dating from the very beginning of the 19th century!
They have more or less pronounced red battens and an MP or JP monogram hand-embroidered in cross stitch at the top left of each tea towel. They have a central link sewn in flag to be able to be hung. These beautiful tea towels all come from the same family. Their material is a mixture of linen and hemp with a pretty hazelnut color. Some are in almost new condition, others are much more worn with sometimes a small hole or marks. Good used condition therefore for these tea towels which constitute an astonishing, rare and touching textile testimony. Perfect for decoration or for a collection.
