Bonjour, welcome to Les Toiles Blanches!
here is a beautiful Art Deco set of tablecloth and napkins that dates c1930.
The fabric is a fine medium weight cotton fabric with sweet tones of pale yellow and blue green with a thin red stripe.
The set comes from the South West of France, le Pays Basque were those cloths were traditionally woven, cream or white ground with primary colors, blue, red or yellow stripes. The colors and style are also typical from the Art Deco period.
The tablecloth and the napkins are embroidered with a beautiful work of monograms of this wonderful set. The RD monogram, hand embroidered with green yearns create a color reminder of the stripes.
The tablecloth has a good length with a fine rectangular shape.
This Art Deco set had 11 matching napkins.
The condition of this early 20th century tablecloth is fine with one hand mending, reflected in the price, freshly laundered and pressed, ready to use!
Ideal for a special table, or to use on Sunday family lunches!
