Bonjour, welcome to Les Toiles Blanches stock!
here is a stunning antique bed sheet that dates from c1930.
The fabric is a gorgeous medium weight linen fil with a floppy fluid rolling texture and a pale ecru tone.
The bed sheet has a perfect Art Deco building with a large triangle Art Deco medaillon shape with a MI or TI monogram? and beautiful several large rows of openworks.
One large openworks plus 4 rows of classic ladderwork that are framing a large rosace beautifully crafted by high skilled fingers. A wonder of pulled thread work!
Please note the measurements of the sheet, so long and wide as the trousseaux bed sheets are!
This trousseau linen sheet is in a fine condition.
I have freshly laundered and pressed this bed sheet, it is ready to use!
Amazing to use a s a sheet because of the soft linen fil fabric, but also gorgeous used a s a window treatment!

FIL OF LINEN BED SHEETS
Fil de lin is the term we use in France to describe the finest quality fibers of the softer part of the flax. Those fil de lin bed sheets are the purest fluid fabric, supple, medium to heavy weight with a stunning floppy hand and a silky touch. They are typical antique linen trousseau dowry with a wonderful tactile texture. These bed sheets are usually wide, embroidered with beautifully crafted monogram and openworks that run the whole width and on the discovery, for the turn down of the sheet. Some of those exceptional sheets were meant to be exposed, we call them ceremonial sheets. The sheet overflows from the bed with a multitude of ornaments, laces and embroideries. A pure delight to sleep in those sheets, thanks to their dramatic falling, they can decorate any window or sofa beautifully as well.

Textile Care
|
Antique linen is a living material, if you treasure it, it will reward you a hundred times. A lot of antique textiles are so robust and wonderfully easy to wash and maintain. The fibres of these exceptional fabrics were grown without any use of chemical, these textiles are organic. No need to use chemicals to wash antique textiles, a good simple natural soap such as the savon de Marseille is fine for every kind of linen. The textiles can be machine washed on warm. The warmer ithey will be washed, the softer and floppier they will turn. Again, no need to use a softener, a dash of white vinegar or a spoon of baking soda are perfect to maintain these wonderful textiles. Dry them on the line if possible, expose them under sun light to brighten the natural white.
