Bonjour, welcome to Les Toiles Blanches stock!
here is a gorgeous antique apron that dates very beginning of the 20th century.
The fabric is a fine crispy cotton of medium weight with a gorgeous tone of ecru.
This antique work wear textile is finely built with glorious details! A wonderful volume first, a full apron built as a skirt with a belt, a button closing in the back, two front pockets cut in bias.
The vichy cotton fabric was traditionally used for kitchen cloths, towels, aprons…

WORK WEAR, APRON
French utilitarian clothes are often made of indigo cotton canvas. Aprons are special in the French peasant trousseau, being used everyday, they are often mended, patched with a lot of care. With time, they turn into lovely timeworn textiles, with beautiful tones of fadded blue. The shape covers body and legs, some of the aprons were built like dresses, most of them have adjustable ties with one or two front pockets. Characterful textiles ideal to wear, look gorgeous over jeans.
