Superb linen keychain sheet dating from the early 19th century.
The material is a medium weight linen with a beautiful ecru color and flowing texture.
This antique bed sheet uses the classic construction of 19th century trousseaus: a central seam, the monogram hand-embroidered on each side in cross stitch, usually the name of each of the newlyweds.
The large letters of the MM monogram are embroidered in cross stitch in red, the color has changed to a pale pink tone.
The monogram is beautiful and must have been embroidered by highly skilled hands.
A piece of French textile history in good condition for its age with only two small tears.
