Here is a trousseau antique bed sheet dating c1920 from a very nice trousseau.
Magnificent fabric in medium weight linen fil with an ecru color. A fluid and supple texture, the finest quality of linen that was woven at the time.
The sheet has a hand-embroidered BB monogram, finely hand embroidered with raised satin stitches and openwork. A beautiful work crafted by hand probably by nuns.
The letters have delightful foliage embroideries contrasting with the more raised embroideries of the numbers and openworks.
The discovery is made of rows of days alternating with beautiful lace insertions between two.
The lace works with beautiful arabesque patterns are embroidered onto the textile using small, delicate drawn thread stitches.
Another amazing detail, it's one of the biggest sheets I've ever seen! Only bed sheets from very beautiful trousseaus have this large size! Length: 3m50 Width: 2m50
This old linen thread sheet is in good condition with just one stain (photo) which could disappear with the right product. I'm not a big fan of chemicals.
There are some very faint small spots on the monogram, priced accordingly.
But otherwise in great condition!
Amazing to use as a sheet, this generously sized curtain can also dress up a window!
